Lindsey Mankoff (RN, BSN, CCM) has been an IndeQuest nurse case manager serving Central Florida for four years. Her job can range from scheduling and attending doctor appointments with clients to managing their medication and equipment to coordinating care, sharing healthcare resources, and answering insurance questions.
“I love my job. It evolves into many different things based on the needs of the patient,” says Lindsey, a Winter Garden resident who is married with two sons – one in college and another in high school. Both attended Gotlib Jewish Academy (formerly Jewish Academy of Orlando).
When Lindsey attends appointments with clients, she not only helps the patient prepare and ask the right questions, she also passes that information along to loved ones so they can navigate the healthcare system smoothly. Most patients are older, but younger clients can also use IndeQuest, including individuals with cognitive function issues or no family nearby.
“We can ask clinical questions and advocate for our client,” she says. “Oftentimes, the children of a geriatric client might hire us because they don’t live here. They need extra eyes or ears to manage care, look for red flags, and report back.”
Planning ahead and being proactive are key, says Lindsey, adding that families can hire her for as little as an hour a month to start building rapport and learning about their loved one’s needs. The goal is to keep clients living happily and independently wherever they choose to age, a goal that is aligned with the mission of Jewish Pavilion Senior Services.
