Working Hand in Hand for 30 Years

Amy Geboff isn’t the only one retiring from Congregation Ohev Shalom after three decades of devoted service. Tracey Levy, who works in tandem with Amy as the education assistant, is saying goodbye as well.

At its annual spring gala in February, Ohev Shalom honored Amy and Tracey with a Secret Garden-themed soiree. The event paid tribute to both women’s unwavering devotion to helping the congregation’s youngest members grow and thrive.

“My time serving at Ohev Shalom has shaped my life in ways I could not have imagined and provided me with a work experience filled with opportunity and joy,” says Tracey. “I found a warm and grateful community as well as a synagogue family, complete with a work sister whom I have spent nearly 30 treasured years working alongside. I feel immense pride as I think about the programs I helped create and the families I have reached. My years working at this amazing place are coming to a close. However, Congregation Ohev Shalom will continue to be my synagogue home as I attend the multiple events and inspiring services offered.”

Tracey is also eager to watch her granddaughter blossom there, in the same nurturing environment that her children enjoyed.

Tracy Hilbert, Ohev Shalom’s executive director, says Tracey has been a steady presence at the synagogue, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

“She worked hand in hand with Amy to care for our children and families,” says Tracy, “always with thoughtfulness and grace.”
